The Octagon Motor Lodge leans into practicality—a roadside bracket of rooms framed by mountain views and the steady shape of NY-10. Light slips in across bare floors; the air is quiet, interrupted only by conversation or the hum of trucks heading into town.

What to Expect:

🛏 Straightforward motel rooms with mini-fridges and microwaves
☕ Free coffee available early every morning in the office
📶 Fast Wi-Fi and satellite TV included in every stay
👫 Family-run hospitality, often greeted by Marion and Stubby themselves
🌄 Close to Walton dining, Delaware River, and seasonal events

Important Information:

✔ Check-in from 2:00 PM; call ahead for late arrival after 8:00 PM
✔ All ground-level rooms; no stairs or elevators needed for access
✔ Best to call for reservations and to confirm rates, especially during fair season
    ✔ Pet-friendly rooms available—ask when booking

Haley's Pick 🍽️

You probably know her as @milehighandhungry. Each week, Haley shares the one place she’s obsessed with right now. From hidden gems to hot new openings, if she picks it, it’s worth the hype.

Haley's Review of Riot BBQ
Riot BBQ on South Delaware feels like a backyard cookout run by a Top Chef, because it is. Chef Manny Barella and pitmaster Patrick Klaiber have teamed up to blend Monterrey flavors with Texas-style smoke, and the results are seriously craveable.

The brisket steals the show: tender, deeply smoky, and finished with Barella’s bold spice rub. Get it solo or wrapped in buttery Raquelita tortillas. The pulled pork brings heat with ancho, guajillo, and morita chiles, and the al pastor ribs are sticky, sweet, and slightly charred in all the right ways.

Even the sides are insanely good! Think crunchy pepita-macha slaw and banana pudding served in a jar that tastes just like childhood (but better). Every bite feels intentional.

It’s barbecue with heart, history, and just the right amount of heat. Riot BBQ isn’t just a meal, it’s a moment worth lining up for.

What folks are saying

Based on the 50 most recent Google reviews
Guests note very clean, functional rooms and genuinely welcoming owners who handle much of the service themselves. Beds and linens are frequently described as fresh, with quiet, restful nights and strong Wi-Fi. Mornings bring free coffee and easy conversation. There are light negatives around musty smells or towels and, more rarely, occasional cleaning misses. A few experienced outages or communication issues with the owners. Pricing is often described as fair, but peak weekends may be higher. The steady theme: a reliable independent motel run with pride and care.
