Haley's Pick 🍽️

Haley's Review of Riot BBQ
Riot BBQ on South Delaware feels like a backyard cookout run by a Top Chef, because it is. Chef Manny Barella and pitmaster Patrick Klaiber have teamed up to blend Monterrey flavors with Texas-style smoke, and the results are seriously craveable.
The brisket steals the show: tender, deeply smoky, and finished with Barella’s bold spice rub. Get it solo or wrapped in buttery Raquelita tortillas. The pulled pork brings heat with ancho, guajillo, and morita chiles, and the al pastor ribs are sticky, sweet, and slightly charred in all the right ways.
Even the sides are insanely good! Think crunchy pepita-macha slaw and banana pudding served in a jar that tastes just like childhood (but better). Every bite feels intentional.
It’s barbecue with heart, history, and just the right amount of heat. Riot BBQ isn’t just a meal, it’s a moment worth lining up for.

Local Insights
⏰ First Chair: Beat the rush by hitting Tomahawk lift out of Discovery Lodge—fresh corduroy holds here longest.
🍟 Cafeteria Hack: Mid-mountain Overlook Lodge stays quieter by lunchtime; grab a table overlooking the drop line on busy weekends.
🌲 Fresh Snow: Glade runs off Deer Run often open last after storms — keep an eye on patrol ropes for soft stashes.
🐕 Leashed Pals: Dogs are welcome in the parking lot and base area if leashed and cleaned up after; but no runs on lifts.

What folks are saying
.svg)
Based on the 50 most recent Google reviews
Visitors praise Belleayre for smooth lift lines, strong grooming, and friendly staff. Snowmaking gets high marks, with conditions holding up even in thaws. Intermediate and family skiers note that the wide blues and mellow greens spread folks out, helping avoid weekend crowds found elsewhere. Weekend and holiday afternoons can see cafeteria bottlenecks and parking lot backups. A few reviews flag that base lodges sometimes fill fast and late-day trails may ice over after busy sessions. Overall, reviewers see Belleayre as a reliable day or weekend spot for all abilities, especially appreciated for its uncrowded weekday sessions and fair prices.
