Inside Snyder’s Tavern, floors creak beneath boots and the bar carries stories older than most regulars. It’s cabin-dark, punctuated by the thud and scrape of stools and low, steady conversation along the rail.
What to Expect:
🍻 Strong pours, cheap beers, no-nonsense cocktails, and a backbar with stories
🦌 A true Catskills haunt: check the walls for taxidermy and lake maps
🎱 Billiards table and country jukebox if the mood strikes
🤝 Outside food allowed—bring a hero, unwrap it at the bar, no one will mind
🪑 Usually quick service, mostly standing or barstool seating
Important Information:
✔ Service Style: Bar service only; no food served onsite
✔ Wheelchair accessibility is limited; main threshold has a step and restrooms are narrow
✔ No reservations—walk-ins only, always
✔ Classic bar setup: full liquor, beer, and simple house cocktails

Haley's Review of Riot BBQ
Riot BBQ on South Delaware feels like a backyard cookout run by a Top Chef, because it is. Chef Manny Barella and pitmaster Patrick Klaiber have teamed up to blend Monterrey flavors with Texas-style smoke, and the results are seriously craveable.
The brisket steals the show: tender, deeply smoky, and finished with Barella’s bold spice rub. Get it solo or wrapped in buttery Raquelita tortillas. The pulled pork brings heat with ancho, guajillo, and morita chiles, and the al pastor ribs are sticky, sweet, and slightly charred in all the right ways.
Even the sides are insanely good! Think crunchy pepita-macha slaw and banana pudding served in a jar that tastes just like childhood (but better). Every bite feels intentional.
It’s barbecue with heart, history, and just the right amount of heat. Riot BBQ isn’t just a meal, it’s a moment worth lining up for.

What folks are saying

Based on the 50 most recent Google reviews
Snyder’s keeps the feel of a lived-in Catskills bar—regulars, brisk pours, and no frills. Folk rave about the beer selection, low prices, and strong drinks. Some call out a friendly, talkative crowd and fast, direct bartenders who remember names behind the bar. There are serious complaints from some visitors (especially those not local or visibly out-of-town) about cold receptions or unwelcoming attitudes. Expect little in the way of food, but plenty of classic bar banter and a room that’s easy to settle into if you grow up in these hills.
