Haley's Pick 🍽️

Haley's Review of Riot BBQ
Riot BBQ on South Delaware feels like a backyard cookout run by a Top Chef, because it is. Chef Manny Barella and pitmaster Patrick Klaiber have teamed up to blend Monterrey flavors with Texas-style smoke, and the results are seriously craveable.
The brisket steals the show: tender, deeply smoky, and finished with Barella’s bold spice rub. Get it solo or wrapped in buttery Raquelita tortillas. The pulled pork brings heat with ancho, guajillo, and morita chiles, and the al pastor ribs are sticky, sweet, and slightly charred in all the right ways.
Even the sides are insanely good! Think crunchy pepita-macha slaw and banana pudding served in a jar that tastes just like childhood (but better). Every bite feels intentional.
It’s barbecue with heart, history, and just the right amount of heat. Riot BBQ isn’t just a meal, it’s a moment worth lining up for.

Local Insights
🥕 House Picks: Mandarin Chicken Salad and Winter Solstice Salad are the mainstays—locals rave about the sesame dressing.
🪑 Outside Tables: When the sun’s out, grab a spot at the sidewalk tables to watch Main Street roll by.
🥖 Bread Tip: Upgrade your salad into a hearty wrap, or ask for a baguette on the side—staff don’t always mention it unless you ask.
🌱 Allergy-Friendly: Lots of options for gluten-free, vegan, or low-carb eaters, but best to double check ingredients at the counter.

Reviews highlight the freshness and variety of salad toppings, plentiful vegetarian selections, and generous portions. Sandwiches, especially the Madison and roast beef, get frequent praise, and guests mention the sesame and house-made dressings. Service is often called cheerful and welcoming, though a handful note hurried staff at peak hours. Value is generally seen as fair for the healthy, filling food; most people leave satisfied and return regularly.
