Sun catches stained glass windows and painted porch rails at Twin Gables, a century-old house with patchwork charm in the heart of Woodstock. Inside, there's always a whiff of fresh coffee, walls hung with local art, and the quiet shuffle of folks checking in for a weekend away from busier places.

What to Expect:

🛏 Individually decorated rooms with period details and unique themes—some with four-poster beds
🎨 Rotating collection of local artwork throughout the inn
🍩 Continental breakfast every morning, fresh-baked pastries and good coffee
🌅 Rooftop deck for sunrise coffee or sunset chats
🌆 Steps to the galleries, music spots, and restaurants that make Woodstock what it is

Important Information:

✔ Two-night minimum on peak weekends and holidays; check-in from 3 PM
✔ No TVs in guest rooms—unplug and settle in
✔ Wi-Fi throughout; street parking if the lot fills up
✔ Accessible ground floor entrance but no elevator; most rooms require stairs

Haley's Pick 🍽️

You probably know her as @milehighandhungry. Each week, Haley shares the one place she’s obsessed with right now. From hidden gems to hot new openings, if she picks it, it’s worth the hype.

Haley's Review of Riot BBQ
Riot BBQ on South Delaware feels like a backyard cookout run by a Top Chef, because it is. Chef Manny Barella and pitmaster Patrick Klaiber have teamed up to blend Monterrey flavors with Texas-style smoke, and the results are seriously craveable.

The brisket steals the show: tender, deeply smoky, and finished with Barella’s bold spice rub. Get it solo or wrapped in buttery Raquelita tortillas. The pulled pork brings heat with ancho, guajillo, and morita chiles, and the al pastor ribs are sticky, sweet, and slightly charred in all the right ways.

Even the sides are insanely good! Think crunchy pepita-macha slaw and banana pudding served in a jar that tastes just like childhood (but better). Every bite feels intentional.

It’s barbecue with heart, history, and just the right amount of heat. Riot BBQ isn’t just a meal, it’s a moment worth lining up for.

Local Insights

🎸 Ask about Room Themes: Each room has its own artistic style—music fans often request the Jimi Hendrix or Hippie room.

☕ Best Local Coffee: Oriole 9 (just down the block) is where locals grab real breakfast if you want to go bigger than continental.

🍂 Rooftop Deck Magic: Sunrise and sunset from the deck are local tradition—grab a mug and watch Tinker St. come alive.

🦉 Night Owls: Most of Woodstock winds down early; for a late spot, Colony around the corner usually has music or a kitchen open a bit longer.

What folks are saying

Based on the 50 most recent Google reviews
Guests talk up the location—steps from everything in town—and find rooms quirky, clean, and full of character. Staff, especially the innkeeper LeAnn, sets a high bar for hospitality and helpful local tips. Most say breakfast is simple but satisfying, and the rooftop deck is a favorite for quiet hangs. A handful note minor downsides: exterior upkeep can lag behind the charm inside, breakfast can occasionally feel basic, and steep stairs may be tricky for some. Most leave saying it feels like a true Woodstock stay, not a chain, and mention returning.
