Haley's Review of Riot BBQ
Riot BBQ on South Delaware feels like a backyard cookout run by a Top Chef, because it is. Chef Manny Barella and pitmaster Patrick Klaiber have teamed up to blend Monterrey flavors with Texas-style smoke, and the results are seriously craveable.
The brisket steals the show: tender, deeply smoky, and finished with Barella’s bold spice rub. Get it solo or wrapped in buttery Raquelita tortillas. The pulled pork brings heat with ancho, guajillo, and morita chiles, and the al pastor ribs are sticky, sweet, and slightly charred in all the right ways.
Even the sides are insanely good! Think crunchy pepita-macha slaw and banana pudding served in a jar that tastes just like childhood (but better). Every bite feels intentional.
It’s barbecue with heart, history, and just the right amount of heat. Riot BBQ isn’t just a meal, it’s a moment worth lining up for.

Local Insights
🍲 Weekday Calm: For a quieter lunch, try a late weekday afternoon when locals finish up—platters arrive fast and the patio is peaceful.
🥧 Dessert Case: Don't skip the house desserts. Baklava sells out by dinner on weekends, and specials rotate often.
🥒 Veg Head: Vegetarians and vegans can find a full meal here—ask for extra lemon on the falafel or to see what soup is in the pot.
👨🍳 Meet George: The owner is usually on site and happy to suggest off-menu specials or combinations if you want to mix things up.

What folks are saying

Based on the 50 most recent Google reviews
Yiasou Cafe is beloved for its hearty portions of classic Greek and Mediterranean food, especially gyros, souvlaki platters, and crisp Greek salads. Guests repeatedly mention the welcoming feel, fast and friendly service, and the owner's engaged presence. The falafel, baklava, and vegetarian menu stand out, while the patio and takeout add to the appeal. Some find the place small and busy at peak hours, and a few wish for clearer menu descriptions, but the overall feeling is of a well-run local favorite where people return often.
