The Exchange Hotel is the type of bar where each footstep echoes on pine floors, and the scent of a fresh pizza drifts in behind the chatter. Sun filters through the windows in the afternoon; by evening, pool balls crack and regulars pull up their usual stools.

What to Expect:

🍕 Pizza made Fridays—crispy, cheesy, and straight from the oven
🎱 Pool table, tunes on the jukebox, and a scattering of locals swapping stories
🍻 Beer taps running strong, plus well-mixed classic cocktails
    👨‍👩‍👦 Family-run feel, with service that’s often on a first-name basis
🥪 Bar plates and simple old-school eats alongside the drinks

Important Information:

✔ Table service and bar seating; dine-in only
✔ Barroom and main entrance are on a single level but no confirmed low-top options
✔ No reservations—walk-ins only; Friday pizza can sell out
✔ Pool table, jukebox, and occasional food nights make it a casual crowd spot

Haley's Pick 🍽️

You probably know her as @milehighandhungry. Each week, Haley shares the one place she’s obsessed with right now. From hidden gems to hot new openings, if she picks it, it’s worth the hype.

Haley's Review of Riot BBQ
Riot BBQ on South Delaware feels like a backyard cookout run by a Top Chef, because it is. Chef Manny Barella and pitmaster Patrick Klaiber have teamed up to blend Monterrey flavors with Texas-style smoke, and the results are seriously craveable.

The brisket steals the show: tender, deeply smoky, and finished with Barella’s bold spice rub. Get it solo or wrapped in buttery Raquelita tortillas. The pulled pork brings heat with ancho, guajillo, and morita chiles, and the al pastor ribs are sticky, sweet, and slightly charred in all the right ways.

Even the sides are insanely good! Think crunchy pepita-macha slaw and banana pudding served in a jar that tastes just like childhood (but better). Every bite feels intentional.

It’s barbecue with heart, history, and just the right amount of heat. Riot BBQ isn’t just a meal, it’s a moment worth lining up for.

Local Insights

🍕 Pizza Friday: Pizza is only served on Fridays—come early, it moves fast and sometimes sells out before sundown.

🎱 Table Rules: Bring quarters for the pool table; locals play friendly but keep the pace brisk.

🕛 Late Crowd: Bar fills up after 9:00 PM, especially in summer—pre-dinner hours are mellowest.

🥡 BYO Bites: On Saturdays when the kitchen’s closed, bringing in your own takeout is fair game.
