Haley's Pick 🍽️

Haley's Review of Riot BBQ
Riot BBQ on South Delaware feels like a backyard cookout run by a Top Chef, because it is. Chef Manny Barella and pitmaster Patrick Klaiber have teamed up to blend Monterrey flavors with Texas-style smoke, and the results are seriously craveable.
The brisket steals the show: tender, deeply smoky, and finished with Barella’s bold spice rub. Get it solo or wrapped in buttery Raquelita tortillas. The pulled pork brings heat with ancho, guajillo, and morita chiles, and the al pastor ribs are sticky, sweet, and slightly charred in all the right ways.
Even the sides are insanely good! Think crunchy pepita-macha slaw and banana pudding served in a jar that tastes just like childhood (but better). Every bite feels intentional.
It’s barbecue with heart, history, and just the right amount of heat. Riot BBQ isn’t just a meal, it’s a moment worth lining up for.

Local Insights
🍵 Off-menu tea: Ask for the house loose-leaf blend or a special green tea—staff will point you right if you’re searching for something unique beyond the usual.
🍱 Lunchtime tip: Arrive before noon or after 1:30 PM on weekdays for shorter waits and more elbow room, especially if you want a booth near the window.
🎏 Sushi boat bonus: Order a sampler or big platter and they'll serve it up on a wooden boat, which is a local favorite for families or groups.
🥢 Regular’s roll: The kitchen often whips up special rolls for repeat customers—don’t hesitate to ask what’s new or not on the menu yet.

Based on the 50 most recent Google reviews
Miso stands out for its consistently fresh sushi, generous portions, and a kitchen that goes beyond standard fare with well-made tempura, dumplings, and hot dishes. Staff are often cited as friendly and attentive, quick with a smile whether for dine-in or takeout. Regulars appreciate fast service, affordable lunch specials, and vegetarian options that don't feel like an afterthought. While an occasional misstep in timing or seasoning is noted, most find the meals satisfying and reliable. Noise can pick up during busier nights, but the atmosphere always feels neighborly.
