The wood-paneled Road House Inn feels like a true Catskills roadside bar—dim light, pool table clack, and locals trading greetings at the counter. Not much changes here, which is part of the draw, and there’s always someone willing to pour a drink or share a story.

What to Expect:

🍺 Ice-cold beer and basic cocktails poured with a steady hand
🥪 Simple bar food—think sandwiches and plates big enough to share
🎱 Pool and sports on the TV for steady weeknight company
🏠 Local crowd with years of stories and a dry sense of humor
🕰 Unhurried hours and closing time that drifts with the mood

Important Information:

✔ Dine-in bar service only—no delivery or takeout
✔ Step at entry; bar height seating; accessible parking is available but indoor spaces are tight
✔ Call ahead for group events or if you want to stop in late—hours can stretch or shorten on a whim
✔ Beer, well drinks, and basic NA sodas; kitchen sometimes closes before the bar—ask when you arrive

Haley's Pick 🍽️

You probably know her as @milehighandhungry. Each week, Haley shares the one place she’s obsessed with right now. From hidden gems to hot new openings, if she picks it, it’s worth the hype.

Haley's Review of Riot BBQ
Riot BBQ on South Delaware feels like a backyard cookout run by a Top Chef, because it is. Chef Manny Barella and pitmaster Patrick Klaiber have teamed up to blend Monterrey flavors with Texas-style smoke, and the results are seriously craveable.

The brisket steals the show: tender, deeply smoky, and finished with Barella’s bold spice rub. Get it solo or wrapped in buttery Raquelita tortillas. The pulled pork brings heat with ancho, guajillo, and morita chiles, and the al pastor ribs are sticky, sweet, and slightly charred in all the right ways.

Even the sides are insanely good! Think crunchy pepita-macha slaw and banana pudding served in a jar that tastes just like childhood (but better). Every bite feels intentional.

It’s barbecue with heart, history, and just the right amount of heat. Riot BBQ isn’t just a meal, it’s a moment worth lining up for.

Local Insights

🍀 John’s the character: The regular bartender is known for a sharp wit and pours that run generous—chat him up if the bar’s slow.

⚽ Weeknight lull: Early evenings (especially Mondays and Tuesdays) are best for bar games or claiming a quiet seat—by Friday it fills fast with locals off work.

🌄 Drinks before dusk: Sunset from the side lot has a good Catskills patchwork view—grab a beer and catch the day fading behind the hills.

🎶 Spotty late nights: Some weekends run late with music or impromptu group hangs, but call ahead if you’re banking on a midnight round.

What folks are saying

Based on the 50 most recent Google reviews
Locals and travelers stop in for friendly drinks and unfussy eats, praising the laid-back scene and straightforward menu. Bartenders are memorable, sometimes gruff but always know their crowd, and regulars say the bar feels like a second living room. It can get a little raucous at night, with the energy depending on who’s around. Some wish for more food options, but most come for the company and honest pours. A couple reviews note the space is snug and well-worn.
